Angel Blue's ’05 voice has been hailed for its shining, agile upper register and "smoky" middle register. A regular BBC Proms presenter who is equally at home on the concert or operatic stage, Angel is quickly establishing herself as one of the best singers in her generation, having performed in over 35 countries in the last 6 years. In the staging of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot, Blue sings the role of the slave girl Liu. The San Diego Opera is making available discounted tickets for University of Redlands alumni and friends.

Starting at 5:00pm, enjoy signature cocktails, grab a bite to eat from food vendors right on the Civic Theatre concourse, enjoy free backstage tours and the Photo Opp Spot. The pre-opera lecture, an entertaining and enlightening talk to get you ready the story, begins at 6:00pm.

After the opera, meet and talk with Angel at The Grant Grill at The US Grant Hotel, 326 Broadway, one block from the theatre. Complimentary appetizers will be provided and no-host drinks will be available.

Can’t speak Italian? Neither can most of us so the San Diego Opera uses Supertitles to be sure you understand every word of the performance. Supertitles translate the lyrics and dialogue in English above the stage and make the opera easy to follow.
