RISK MANAGEMENT, EHS, AND SUSTAINABILITY MISSION STATEMENT 

Our mission is to identify, assess, and manage risks to the University by using an Enterprise Risk Management strategy, and to implement comprehensive risk, EHS, and Sustainability programs with active involvement from students, faculty, and staff, in order to ensure a strong safety culture, environmental stewardship, and reduced risks to the University.

Health and Safety:

  • Asbestos Disposal
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Chemical Management
  • Critter Control (bees, coyotes, raccoons, wild cats)
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response 
  • Fall Protection and Ladder Safety
  • Fire and Life Safety
  • Hearing Conservation
  • Laboratory Safety
  • Lead and Mold Safety
  • Nighttime Lighting Surveys
  • Office Ergonomic Assessments

Environmental:

  • Air Emissions
  • Hazardous Waste Management 

 

Sustainability:

  • Set sustainability goals for the University.
  • Track key sustainability metrics (e.g., AASHE Stars)
  • Attend Sustainability Council Meetings
  • Work with student groups on campus
  • Work with other colleges and university to share ideas.
