The Biology Department at the University of Redlands invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Ecology. The successful candidate will teach non-majors and majors as well as involve undergraduates in research.

We seek candidates who have a demonstrated interest in working with students of under-represented groups in achieving academic success. Applicants should identify their strengths and experiences in assisting diverse student populations to accomplish curricular goals.

University of Redlands: Located in an ethnically and culturally diverse region, the University of Redlands is a private, liberal arts university enrolling approximately 2400 undergraduates and 100 graduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. The campus sits at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, with both the coast and desert nearby. The academic calendar includes fall and spring semesters, plus an optional May term that provides an opportunity to offer travel- or field-based courses.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. (by the time of hire) in Biology or a closely related field and a strong commitment to quality undergraduate education are required. We seek expertise in any area of ecology; research experience with field-based studies, mathematical modeling, and/or statistics is preferred.  An ability to collaborate with other departments, such as Environmental Studies, Center for Spatial Studies (GIS), or School of Education is desirable. The successful applicant will be expected to support the College of Arts and Sciences’ general education curriculum.
