OCPD and OPT

The Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) at the University of Redlands is dedicated to assisting students and alumni in their journey towards career success. Located centrally on campus, the OCPD provides comprehensive services including career counseling, resume and cover letter reviews, internship and job search assistance, and networking opportunities. Through workshops, career fairs, and one-on-one advising sessions, students are equipped with the tools and skills necessary to navigate the job market confidently. The office also offers guidance on graduate school applications and career planning, ensuring students are well-prepared for their professional futures.

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a program that allows international students in the United States on F-1 visas to gain practical experience in their field of study. Students can engage in OPT during their studies or after graduation, with the opportunity to work in the U.S. for up to 12 months, or longer for those in STEM fields eligible for a 24-month extension. The University of Redlands' Office of Global Education provides support for students navigating the OPT application process, offering resources and advising to ensure compliance with immigration regulations and successful engagement with this valuable professional development opportunity.
