DESCRIPTION:   The Admissions Operations Manager reports to the Director of Admissions and has primary oversight of all processes and operations related to outreach, recruitment, application submissions, processing of credentials and enrollment of students.  The position ensures timely processing of prospective and applicant data, processing of application credentials, managing communication plans, overseeing audit reports, and using data to drive decisions in a paperless environment.  This position will ensure that the admissions operations team meets daily goals by creating consistent routines, protocols surrounding daily activities, and a clear workflow process. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Sr. Associate Director of Operations and Technology, Sr. Associate Director of Admissions, and the Director of Admissions to ensure a seamless experience for applicants through the entire admissions cycle.  This position will be the key operational liaison for campus partners such as the Registrar’s office, Student Services, Advancement and Parent Relations.

  • Hire, train, supervise and lead a professional team of three support staff and temporary staff (during peak season) in a fast paced work environment.
  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day operations and workflow to ensure prioritization of workloads, setting of appropriate deadlines, and meeting enrollment goals while providing quality customer service.
  • Manage a complex communication plan and admission record keeping function.
  • Create and process documents associated with recruitment and communication plans; coordinate production and distribution of electronic and print documents.
  • Provide leadership in streamlining processes, in paperless environment transition, and in implementation of a new CRM. 
  • Train and maintain data entry standards ensuring office adherence to university data entry policies.
  • Oversee inventory, storage and distribution of all print materials.
  • Manage payment of office expenditures, including account payables, processing of expense reports, application fees, and deposits.  
  • Responsible for the management of office and paper supplies, work stations and equipment.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Admissions. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Three to five years of related work experience to include managing professional staff, increasing progression of responsibilities preferably in a college admissions or higher education environment. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a fast paced metric driven environment. Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and on a team. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Proficiency in computer systems to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.  Ability to learn new systems to include a CRM and an institution wide student information database and system. Must be open to a working a flexible work schedule that includes evening and weekend hours. Knowledgeable about best practices within the university admission field. Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
