About Cindy Snyder
Miss Snyder moves with equal ease from opera to pop to musical theater. She has been the featured soloist in numerous symphony and opera concerts and her repertoire includes more than 40 roles.
Having spent her earlier years studying piano, Cynthia began her training in vocal performance while attending California State University at Fullerton where she was the recipient of a full music scholarship and began her study of opera. While attending the University, Cynthia toured Japan and Korea singing in the Korean Opera House as well as performing for the United States Military on the air craft carrier the U.S.S. Midway.
Miss Snyder has appeared with such companies as Opera Pacific, Long Beach Opera, West Coast Opera Theatre, Pasadena Lyric Opera, Bel Canto Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Inland Cities Opera, Riverside Opera, and Fresno Opera. Some of her roles include Mimi in La Bohéme, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Violetta in La Traviata, Micaela in Carmen, Marguerite in Faust, Antonia in Les contes d'Hoffmann, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, Isabelle/Madeline in The Face on the Barroom Floor, and the title roles of Madama Butterfly, Suor Angelica, Tosca, and Norma.
Conductors and directors with whom Miss Snyder has worked include Nico Castel, William Vendice of both the Metropolitan Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Frank Fetta, Henry Holt, Sherrill Milnes, William Yannuzzi of Baltimore Opera, Edna Garabedian, Christopher Alden, Dick Jones, Virginia Zeani at Indiana University, Charles Nelson Reilly, and Mila Filatova of St. Petersburg Opera in Russia.
Cynthia acquired her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Redlands, where she joined the voice faculty at both the University of Redlands as well as the College of the Desert in Palm Desert California.
