About Dr. Hehman

Dr. Hehman's areas of expertise are developmental and evolutionary psychology. Her past research interests have included studying memory loss associated with Alzheimer's, investigating ‘Theory of Mind' across the lifespan, and developing a bio-social-cognitive model of ageism. Her work on ageism involved (i) identifying individual differences and contextual factors that lead some older adults to succumb more to the challenges of older age than others; and (ii) investigating factors that predict and mitigate ageist attitudes across the lifespan to foster more positive life outcomes for older adults. Other research interests include investigating developmental predictors for a wide range of behaviors and perceptions, including casual sexual behavior (and its consequences) and sibling conflict versus cooperation.
