What is Academic Success Coaching?
Similar to how an athletic coach encourages and supports you in becoming your best athletic self, our Academic Success Coaches can help you become your best academic self.
Academic Success Coaches help you develop skills and strategies to successfully navigate college and realize your full potential. Coaches will work with you to identify and utilize new learning tools and strategies to help meet your academic and personal goals during your time at University of Redlands.
Our coaches are different from academic advisors or counselors/therapists in that they help you develop academic and personal skills to become a stronger student. Through a series of one-on-one appointments, you will work with your coach to grow in academic strength, grit, and resilience to get you where you want to be academically.
Academic Success Coaches provide holistic support in the following areas:
- Motivation
- Goal setting and attainment
- Effective study strategies
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Time management and task prioritization
- Recognizing and marketing your strengths
- Adulting

Hello, my name is Andrea Brenstrom, I am a psychology major here at the University of Redlands on the path to earning either a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy or counseling, or a PsyD in clinical psychology in order to enter private practice settings in the future. My interest in helping students stems from my personal experiences with learning to balance academics, extra-curriculars, as well as other tribulations life throws our way during the time of undergraduate education. I have learned through my years of juggling athletics with academics and other commitments, how to best prioritize my time in order to balance success in the classroom, with time to relax, recover, and socialize. I want to help students find this balance as well in order to reach their full potential and enjoy their undergraduate experience.
