What is a kinesiology degree?

As a student in the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology program, you’ll dive into the complex world of human motion and body mechanics. This rigorous program provides a strong academic foundation in biology, chemistry, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and anatomy. Electives in this program are designed to allow you to focus your studies on prerequisites for entry into graduate programs in allied health fields — physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training — or gear your courses toward careers in physical education, coaching, or strength and fitness.

Why should you major in kinesiology at Redlands?

The kinesiology program at University of Redlands is designed to establish a strong foundation in physical sciences pertaining to human movement, performance, and function. Through hands-on learning experiences and interdisciplinary studies, you’ll be well-equipped for a variety of allied health professions. Professors and advisors will work closely with you to craft an academic plan that aligns with your career goals and to identify opportunities for local internships, student-led research, and shadowing experiences. Additionally, this program is partnered with Loma Linda University to create a pathway for undergraduate students to flow seamlessly into graduate studies in physical therapy and occupational therapy.
