Bringing Justice Home: Racial Justice in our Lived Environments
Together we are living through a period characterized by unprecedented nationwide and international Black Lives Matter protests and the global Covid-19 pandemic, both of which have exposed deep historic social inequalities that continue to pervade everyday life. The Public Square Conversations this year will explore how racial (in)justice affects us across all of the environments in which we live; the discussions will consider our campus, the natural environment, the built environment, digital spaces, and the political landscape: local, statewide, national, and global. These Public Square conversations will make visible the ways in which race intersects with gender, class, sexuality, gender identity and disability to shape our institutions, social movements and everyday life in America and globally.
Public Square for Social & Environmental Justice
The Public Square is an open space to explore urgent social and environmental justice issues facing our communities from right here in the Inland Empire to communities across the globe. Our conversations make visible the ways in which race intersects with gender, class, sexuality, and disability to shape our institutions, social movements and everyday life. All are invited to learn, contribute, and participate.
