Counseling and Human Services

Guided by the ideals of equity and access, the School of Education's Department of Counseling and Human Services prepares students to provide socioculturally adaptive and responsive services in educational, non-profit, and government settings.

About

The Counseling and Human Services faculty are strongly committed to training excellent practitioners who graduate prepared to address the needs of diverse clients and students. Our commitment to social justice is reflected in our curriculum, in the training opportunities we arrange, and in the supervision we provide.

The Department houses a credential program, on-campus master's degree programs in counseling—School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling—and a Counseling and Psychotherapy program offered in Wuhan, China. These programs challenge students to think critically about social justice issues, applying concepts of diversity and multiculturalism to problem-solving.
